Abstract

Computer networks have an important role in an educational institution, especially Ad-Da'wah Middle School, West Jakarta. In their daily lives, these institutions carry out data exchange activities using hardware or software that is connected to a network together. But with more students using the school network, there are often problems related to their use of the network, such as poorly configured management systems, inadequate security configurations, which make the network prone to downtime or unusable. In this research, the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) network development model is used, which is a technique for building or improving network infrastructure that allows network monitoring for the purpose of understanding network statistics and performance. The only best solution to this problem is to use VLAN technology for the network. By installing a VLAN on the school network, it is hoped that the system can collect data from different types of users and optimize its performance while preventing congestion or other network problems. Data security on each PC will be safer if you use a VLAN network, because we can create any configuration that is connected to each other. . By implementing the Access Control List, data is more efficient, because it is able to limit data traffic between divisions. By adding more adequate devices, network performance can be improved.
